Can I search across multiple catalogs at the same time?

Using PUMP-FLO Premium, you can search across as many pump manufacturers' catalogs at once as you choose. From anywhere in the Premium program, click the New Search button. This takes you to the Catalogs page. Click on a manufacturer logo to choose from their available product lines. You can 'click and drag' to select products in succession, or Ctrl+Click to select individual product lines. When you're done, click 'Use Selected'. If you don't know what product lines to choose, click 'Use All'. To add products from another manufacturer, click another logo and repeat the process. Manufacturers whose product lines you have selected will be marked with a blue border around their logo. When you're done, click 'Continue Selection' to add your search criteria.

How do I change to metric/SI units?

Our sample pump selection has been done in the US unit system, however when you start a New Search there is the option to "Change Units" where you can select the Metric unit system.  You are able to do this within the Free Preview of the Premium Product, however you will not be able to actually do the pump selection without subscribing.

How do I add System Resistance Curves to my selections?

You can add System Resistance Curves to your selection in three different ways. In the System Resistance Curves box on the Search Criteria page:

  1. Check the Auto Generate SRC box. If your system has a static head, enter it in the Static Head box. This will generate a second order curve between those two points which will be displayed on the graphs on your search results.
  2. To generate a second order curve between a zero flow point and any other point, click the More SRCs button, and on the dialogue that opens click the Generate button. Enter the static head at zero flow, and the flow and head for the second point, then click Generate. A System Resistance Curves dialogue will open displaying the points of the second order curve. To Save the curve, enter a name and click OK. The name you entered will be added to the list of System Resistance Curves, and the curve will be displayed on the graphs on your search results.
  3. To enter discreet points for your System Resistance Curve, click the More SRCs button, then click the New button on the dialogue that opens. Enter a name for the curve you want to enter, and enter the flow and head points you want to use, then click OK. The name you entered will be displayed on the list of System Resistance Curves, and the curve will be displayed on the graphs on your search results.

How do I share selection lists?

You can share a PUMP-FLO Premium selection list with anyone who has an email account. Share recipients don't need a Premium subscription to view the list, but will need to create a user account if they don't have one. Share recipients who have Premium subscriptions will be able to make changes to lists if you allow them that privilege; share recipients who don't have a Premium subscription will be able to view lists 'read only'.

To share a selection list, go to the List Manager by clicking the 'My Lists' button at the top of any page in Premium. The List Manager will display all the selection lists you have saved; any unsaved or deleted lists from the past two weeks will be stored under the Recent Selection Lists bar at the bottom of the page. Click on the 'Share' Icon   on the far left hand side of the row of the list you want to sort.

A 'Share with others' dialog box will open. In the 'Invite' box, enter the email address of the person you'd like to share with. You can enter a personal message for the recipient in the Message box. Finally, choose the type of access you'd like the recipient to have (View, Modify or Share ownership) from the radio buttons below the email address box. 'View' sharing is read only, 'Modify' will allow the recipient to make changes to the list and the pumps on it and view the list of users who have access, and 'Share ownership' will allow the recipient to modify and share the list with others. Please note: Modifications the recipient makes to the list will show on your list too. This allows real-time collaboration on projects.

When you click 'Send', PUMP-FLO Premium will send an email message to the recipient to notify them that you shared a list with them. The email will contain a link to the list you've shared. If the user has a Premium subscription or account, clicking the link will take them right to the shared list after they log in. For users that are already logged in, the shared list will appear in their List Manager automatically for immediate access. The email also includes instructions on how to create an account for recipients who don't already have one.

Shared lists are marked with an orange 'Share' icon in your List Manager. You can also revoke access to a list you have shared in the 'People with access' tab in the 'Share' dialog box. People who have access to the shared list are shown, along with the type of access they have. Share recipients with View or Modify access can view this list as well. Anyone with 'Owner' privileges can revoke shares from anyone on the list, including the person who shared the list with them. To revoke a share, click the trash can icon next to a user's email address. That will remove the list from their List Manager permanently.

Can I add a pump to a selection list that didn't get returned in my search?

You can manually add any pump to any selection list. Click the Manual Selection link in the blue bar at the top of the page (under the Catalogs tab). In the dialogue that opens, choose a manufacturer. All pumps from that manufacturer will be added to a list. You can click column headers to sort the list, or type a value in the text box to filter the list. For example, if you're looking for an 1800 rpm pump, typing 1800 into the Speed text box will filter the list so that only 1800 rpm pumps show. When you find the pump you want, click the row and it will be added to your selection list. The pump's location in the list will be determined by whatever sort criteria you have chosen.

How can I add additional data (design point, efficiency etc) to my multiple speed curves?

In PUMP-FLO Premium, you can generate a multiple speed curve and add projected performance data at the speeds you choose. When viewing a curve, click the Multiple Speeds tab. Enter the speeds at which you'd like to see the performance for the design impeller you've chosen. PUMP-FLO Premium generates head/flow curves and shows them automatically. You can also add Resistance Curves, Efficiency, NPSHr, Power and your Design Point by clicking the check box next to the graph option you want to show.
